Maintaining Continuity of Services Policy Effective 1 December 2025
This policy outlines how continuity of care will be supported if psychological services need to end.
Planned Changes to Work or Personal Circumstances
If Laura Bailey is required to cease providing psychological services due to a change in her work or personal circumstances, you will be provided with adequate notice. In these situations, Laura will recommend 2–3 suitable psychologists or mental health clinicians to continue your care. Once you have chosen a new clinician, and with your consent, Laura will provide a written or verbal handover.
Unplanned or Abrupt End to Services
If psychological services must end abruptly due to exceptional circumstances (e.g., serious illness or death), Laura has arranged a fellow psychologist who will be provided access to client contact details solely for the purpose of ensuring continuity of care. The fellow psychologist will contact clients to offer appropriate treatment options and support the transition to new providers.
